From a wedding I shot last Tuesday with Bob. I fear that the airbrushing was a bit too heavy, does the skin look plastic?

An experiment. I've always admired self-portraitists; I've never had the guts to do it myself. I can't say I've that much courage to bare my soul to the world. I can't even show all of my own face. This self-portrait business is ****ing scary, man.
I took this the other day while I spent the week in bed sick. I was bored and didn't have anything else to do. Yah, in the midst of all the sniffling and coughing I still managed to put on some mascara and lipgloss... I think that tells you a lot about a woman's vanity, ha ha.
I also tried out an airbrushing technique I picked up from Ena's tutorials; I hope I wasn't too heavyhanded with it, I wanted to try to keep some texture in the skin.
Be kind. Hope you guys, well... don't hate it.

Uh oh... Less than 12 hours and already at #44 on Flickr Explore. I've just outrun all my girlfriends' photos!!
Update 7 May: After a fantastic weeklong run on Explore this photo has gathered over 1000 views and peaked at #26. It's also gotten the most number of comments for any of my entries here at FP, but I think that's because of Leap getting Editor's Choice... in any case I hereby pronounce it my most popular photo ever!!! ahahahahaha.

I haven't had much time to shoot lately, between assignments, projects, presentations and the flu. So here's something else from the Penang shoot, that <i>sort of</i> pictures what I feel right now. Even though I'm stuck with a really bad flu, I'm just so relieved that this semester is over!! It's been tough, but that's the last of it. I won't have full classes next semester, just a practical course. Can't wait to graduate 
(oops, wait a second... did i just forget i still have finals???)

This is how I feel right now.
I just got back from a road trip with some friends to Penang Island to shoot a documentary for a class project. I hadn't been on a road trip in so long that I've forgotten how much fun it was. Maybe I'm growing old. (At 24?? Nahhhh...)
Even though I'm exhausted from 4 hectic days of shooting, plus the 6-hour drive back to KL (and somewhere in the back of my mind I'm also worried about the 3058 deadlines I've got next week), I did promise a special 100th photo, and here it is. It isn't spectacular in an artistic or technical sense, but at least it's honest about the way I'm feeling right now.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of this half-portrait thing. Hahah. I love the softness and warm tone of this pic. Just a levels layer, plus a bit of dodging of the facial skin to make it look more luminous, a bit of burning of the eye and brow, for added contrast, and finally USM.
50mm at f/1.8, WB set to Shade -3 (I think). What do you think?
